What are the plans for the AACD information table at the Utah Dental Convention?
The goal is to network with dentists interested in cosmetic dentistry and promote participation with the AACD and accreditation. We will have an information table in the halls of the convention center and will display accredited level intra-oral photos to show the beautiful work that can be reached with accreditation. We will also have discount postcards to handout to join the AACD and brochures on the accreditation.
Where are we at with a press release for the news on AACD and accreditation?
Designing a website for public to see that would show some examples of the cases that we are seeking volunteers. Email is setup for volunteers to submit smile selfies for screening. Final revisions of press release and then will send to and work with KSL.
What accreditation cases did anyone do?
Eric showed a beautiful case type 3 (tooth replacement) that he just did with Jordan Davis.
What is an easy way to share with each other when we do accreditation cases?
A group text or email of those interested in sharing with each other. Let Matt know if you want to be included in this group to view each other's cases.
Which accreditation cases are needed by anyone?
Gary (ceramist) just needs a case type 3 (tooth replacement) if anyone has that they want to work with him on.

What is a good technique for creating ideal composite surface texture?
Electric handpiece, high torque, very slow speed.
What days should we plan meetings for the upcoming year?
Some have expressed interest with something that is not in the evening and having more opportunities since conflicts come up and then a lot of time can pass. The proposed idea is to have meetings monthly for this next year and have some on late afternoons on Wednesdays, some at the same time on Fridays and then a few Thursday evening ones as well. Please give your interest or feedback if you are interested in participating.
When is the next meeting?
Friday February 6, meet for lunch, RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of this week if you are interested.
Thursday evening March 12, 7:30pm. - will be doing a hands on composite class IV at Eric Newell's lab on models with each other's composite

develop facial embrasures by keeping contact just lingual of the middle of where the teeth come together
What to learn from Alan's case type 4?
waxup fracture in office and make putty splint (will do at next meeting at Eric's lab)
used vitalescence and composite warmer with 3 layers
thin palatal enamel layer placed with putty, gives outline
diamond impregnated rubber wheel for effective leveling of incisal edges
vertical brown lines and vertical w
check patient's incisal edges from multiple viewpoints, standing up while patient is still back
What to learn from Matt's diastema closure?
build one up to the ideally intended width, then with teflon tape tight against it with no wrinkles, build the adjacent tooth up to this.
use curved scalpel blade to help shape emergence and embrasure
What is the best way to manage veneer cementation?
lumigrip, then spot cure center of veneer with fine tip on curing light, then clean up and floss all cement several times before full cure (including oxygen inhibited layer on margins)
